Robert Wolfe Quine (December 30, 1942 – May 31, 2004) was an American guitarist, known for his innovative guitar solos. A native of Akron, Ohio, Quine worked with a wide range of musicians, though he himself remained relatively unknown in comparison. Critic Mark Demming writes "Quine's eclectic style embraced influences from jazz, rock, and blues players of all stripes, and his thoughtful technique and uncompromising approach led to rewarding collaborations with a number of visionary musicians.
Blank Generation is the debut studio album by American punk rock band Richard Hell and the Voidoids. It was produced by Richard Gottehrer and released in September 1977 on Sire Records. Kentucky-born Richard Meyers moved to New York City after dropping out of high school in 1966 aspiring to become a poet. He and his best friend from high school, Tom Miller, founded the rock band the Neon Boys, which became Television in 1973.
Accompanied by a 68-page book featuring work artists made in response to the recordings.
Quine then worked in a movie memorabilia store in New York City with Richard Hell and Tom Verlaine who went on to form the influential rock band Television. Later, Hell invited him to join his new band the Voidoids . With Material bandmate Fred Maher, Quine recorded his only other solo album, Basic, released in 1984. In the early 1980s, former Velvet Underground frontman Lou Reed drafted Quine to join his group. He appeared on Reed's The Blue Mask (1982), acclaimed as one of Reed's best albums.

Richard Hell's punk credentials are hard to top: as a founding member of Television, he helped bring the new music to New York City's legendary CBGB club before forming The Heartbreakers with axeman Johnny Thunders, and eventually The Voidoids with guitarist Robert Quine. With a recording career that's been as sporadic as it's been influential, SPURTS: THE RICHARD HELL STORY is the ideal way to sample the man's music

But for a man with such a small legacy, Richard Hell certainly seems fond of anthologizing his work, and Spurts: The Best of Richard Hell marks the third time he has attempted to sum up his life in rock & roll in one convenient package.
