Steal This Album! is the third studio album by Armenian-American heavy metal band System of a Down, released on November 26, 2002 by American Recordings and Columbia Records. Produced by Rick Rubin and Daron Malakian, the album peaked at number 15 on the US Billboard 200. In early 2002, medium-quality MP3s of the album were released on the internet under the name Toxicity II, a clear reference to the band's previous, multi-platinum record, Toxicity.

It peaked at number 37 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart, as well as number 51 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. In 2015, Fact placed it at number 13 on the "100 Best Indie Hip-Hop Records of All Time" list.
Steal This Album is the Coup's masterstroke, taking the advances of Genocide & Juice to the next level and coming up with one of the most underappreciated hip-hop albums of the '90s. Down to a duo, the Coup officially becomes a vehicle for Boots Riley's observations, which it mostly was already; still, there's a greater focus simply from the fact that it's a product of one ambitious vision.
That eerily prophetic album cover, and the subsequent press coverage that followed, bolstered The Coup's renown and provided a fitting metaphor for 9/11: America ignores voices of dissent until they become a threat. Now that The Coup has the attention of the public and the FBI, FOAD records has decided to reissue The Coup's '98 classic Steal This Album with an additional disc of live material. If you already own this album, you won't have much use for the reissue; the live disc is nice, but definitely not worth the extra dough

Canibus is such an intriguing emcee with an exceptional skill set bu. he biggest problem with this album has nothing to do with Canibus’ skills or his rhyming, but with the production. Mostly handled by Wyclef Jean, the production is kinda weak and definitely not compatible with Canibus’ punishing battle rap style. In this Canibus is like a modern-day Kool Moe Dee – exceptional emcee skills, but on his albums usually let down by subpar production.
