by Killah Priest) I produced this one! This was a song that I always wanted to do to get off my chest. I lost the first one. I always tell this story. I was on a ferry boat in Staten kicking it with Prodigal. People still tell me, "Priest, that's one of the best albums created in Hip Ho. Talk about evolution, this album is something different. Just look at the beats. Pun used to tell me, "This shit is crazy!" I couldn't be around them all the time because I had my own clique. I forgot how many Mics I got, but I should have gotten 5 Mics on this album, hands down. Archived from the Wu-Tang Corp. About HipHopGame Interview On Making Heavy Mental.

As one of the late-arriving members of the Wu-Tang Clan, perhaps it isn't surprising that Killah Priest doesn't follow the RZA blueprint as strictly as his peers. His debut record, Heavy Mental, uses the signature Wu sound as a foundation, stretching out RZA's impressionistic soundscapes with weird samples and drum loops. Nevertheless, Killah Priest isn't strictly about sound - he's about the entire picture, and his lyrics are decidedly stranger and more ambitious than the average late-'90s rapper.
