Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell (Album). Virgin, Virgin, Virgin, Virgin.

Meat Loaf On His New Vegas Show, ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ And The Reason That Sir Paul McCartney Should ‘Stay Home’. I just read an interview with Paul McCartney and it upset me a little bit. He said, Well, after 40 it all becomes the same and I just went, Oh my God, well then, Paul, please stay home. Because that’s not what’s going on - and I love Paul McCartney. Every time that you walk on that stage, every time that you do an interview - it doesn’t make any difference what you do - it’s a learning experience. Speaking of listening to the records, it’s been more than 35 years since the ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ record and it was quite a struggle to get that album release. .Yeah, but you know what, it’s part of life.

Meat Loaf’s Bat Out Of Hell was far more than a great rock record. The album was a work of art that introduced to the world one of the greatest rock and roll vocalist of all time. It also presented rock fans with the songwriting genius of Jim Steinman, and the brilliant musicianship and production skills of Todd Rundgren. Many rock fans know Todd and his brilliant body of work, but his brilliance on the Meat Loaf material should not be underscored

Interview: Meat Loaf. Before this night is over, Meat Loaf will be declared a legend. Granted, the oracle won’t be issued by the most otherworldly of sources – it will be proclaimed by Buddhist hunk Richard Gere – but still, that kind of handle isn’t attached to just anyone. Most amazing of all is that the pronouncement will pertain to Meat Loaf’s artistic output long before his recent platinum comeback smash, Bat out of Hell II: Back Into Hell, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard charts and left a nation uttering the words go figure. I’m different from Bette or Cher or Sinatra, Meat Loaf is saying emphatically and completely out of the blue, just a short time away from being granted luminary status. This might be a huge ego thing, but I tend to think of myself as the Robert De Niro of rock.

You may recall, at a concert performance on June 16 in Edmonton, Canada, the performer collapsed onstage in the middle of his show-stopping song I’d Do Anything for Love. The New York Post was a little premature on Meat Loaf’s condition following his June 16, 2016 onstage collapse. Related: Meat Loaf collapses onstage. The New York Post was a bit premature on pronouncing the man dead.

Meat Loaf had the only copy of his album in the country at that time. So he knew I hadn't heard it. It's not an ideal way to start an interview - but it often happens. Often you get a copy of the album - in some form - the night before. But with Meat Loaf I was flying blind

Michael Lee Aday, aka Meat Loaf, had performed on stage in productions of HAIR and THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, and had developed into the larger-than-life performer stage productions often require. When he and Jim Sharman became friends, they agreed that three of Steinman’s songs for an unproduced musical titled NEVERLAND ( Bat Out of Hell, Heaven Can Wait, and All Revved Up With No Place to Go ) had potential as the foundation of an album-and the result was a collection of songs that virtually every recording company turned down. It was not an instant success, but over time word of mouth began to boost sales, and at present it is one of the very few albums to have sold in excess of forty million copies. Meat Loaf’s soaring, muscular, emotional voice is what makes the album work-it’s impossible to imagine any other singer pulling it off.
