Hot Fuss is the debut effort from American alt-rock group The Killers. Notable in the collection are two parts of the ‘Murder Trilogy’ – Midnight Show and Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine. The first track in the trilogy, Leave The Bourbon On The Shelf, appears on the 2007 b-side complication Sawdust.
After Hot Fuss, The Killers were officially a band to look out for, and released their second album Sam’s Town just two years later. We can thank this record for classic hits like When You Were Young and standout videos for songs such as Bones, which became indicative of the band’s bizarre, film noir, storytelling style. Just one year later, Sawdust, made up of B-side tracks and rarities, was released; once again, the Nevada natives had proved that they could do something entirely different and innovative with their sound.

Hot Fuss is a hell of a record. The first 5 tracks off this sensational debut effort could easily be five tracks of a greatest hits album. This CD pretty much epitomizes the new wave rock of 2004. A perfect blend of synth pop, indie rock, glam, and dance all rolled up into one. This is most definitely one of the best albums of the 2000's. There isn't a bad track, in my opinion, and it's one of those rare gems where you can play the entire album from front to back without just having a couple decent tracks to repeat. This is a very good album that most will enjoy, I have always been a fan of the killers this is the best album in my opinion. The following is based on sound quality and not the music itself. I am a light audiophile and I have to say this cd should only be played in car or speakers.
The Killers released their debut album Hot Fuss on June 7, 2004 in the United Kingdom on Lizard King Records and a week later in the United States on Island Records. The track listing differed depending on territory, in the UK and Australia "Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll" replaces "Change Your Mind" as track eight.
