The UK Albums Chart is a record chart based on weekly album sales in the United Kingdom; during the 1960s, a total of 57 albums reached number one. The sources are the Melody Maker chart until March 1960, and the Record Retailer chart from March 1960 onwards. Six artists spent 20 weeks or more at number one on the albums chart during the 1960s. Eight record labels spent 20 weeks or more at number one on the albums chart during the 1960s.

Or take them together, as a cohesive statement, like they were an album? I don’t know. Come Together is the first Beatles song that ever drew me in. My parents weren’t big music people, but they did own a vinyl copy of Abbey Road. I used to sit in my dad’s study and listen to Come Together over and over, trying to figure out what was going on.

This collection of number ones is taken from the most widely circulated charts in the UK (Record Retailer) and the USA (Billboard). Looking through the list of songs brings back so many memories for me. My first thought was about Love Me Do - our first single. To begin with nobody wanted to know, even in our own record company. But after a lot of hard work it entered the Top 20 in the UK, and in the States it later reached number one. From then on John and Paul seemed to burst with inspiration

The Beatles (commonly known as The White Album) is the eponymous tenth studio album by English rock band The Beatles.

The bestselling compilation album 1 collates The Beatles' number one hit singles, charting their rise from tentative R&B-influenced rockers through to era-defining songwriters. The chronological approach allows listeners to trace The Beatles' advancements in songwriting throughout the 1960s, and their increasingly experimental approach to studio recording. The songs included on 1 were number one hits in either the UK or US charts. Hence the inclusion of Love Me Do, which only managed number 17 in the UK, and The Long And Winding Road, which wasn't even released as a single there. The tracklisting contains other anomalies

The Beatles is a 1968 album by the band of the same name, The Beatles. Its cover included no photographs, but was a simple white jacket, with the band's name die-stamped onto the paper. Early copies also included a serial number. The plain white cover led fans and listeners to call the record the "White Album". In time, even the band and their company, Apple Corps, began to use this name.

About The Beatles is a comprehensive and informative site about the Beatles featuring an unparalleled international discography of LPs, EPs, singles, and more; interviews; rare photos; quotes; detailed song and album information; and much more. Each page features a photo of the album cover as well as a track listing, release dates, catalog numbers, and special notes. Alternate covers (many from other countries) are also shown. For accuracy, albums that were released in the UK are considered to be the 'Regular Issue' albums, and the albums released in countires other than the UK which are either different from the UK versions or not released in the UK at all are listed by country.
