The Jensens songbook is one that continues to change. The angst and fervour of their debut release ‘Everybody Talks’ and the introspective, moonlight rock of follow up ‘Sexless’ combine to create somewhat of a first phase in the bands career. Hard hitting rock that typified the late teen hedonism they were all experiencing. They played incessantly around Australia for two years in support of the two records, delivering a live show with staggering energy. Following the release of ‘Sexless’, the band took a short hiatus from the stage. Now, in 2019, The Jensens are set to release their debut album ‘Hyacinth Haze’. A record that combines the potency of their first two records, with the broader musical palate and sophistication of ‘Emotion’. Two singles have already been released from the album. In November 2018 the bittersweet opener ‘Coma’ and in March 2019, the psyche-tinged lead single ‘Mt. Mura’.

In mathematics, Jensen's inequality, named after the Danish mathematician Johan Jensen, relates the value of a convex function of an integral to the integral of the convex function. It was proven by Jensen in 1906. Given its generality, the inequality appears in many forms depending on the context, some of which are presented below.
Adept festival stage rockers too, The Jensens have performed at tastemaker events such as The Blurst of Times, Mountain Goat Valley Crawl, Valley Fiesta, Jungle Love and the inaugural Grampians Music Festival. Laying a foundation of trademark sounds and developing a loyal fanbase in their hometown, The Jensens are now looking towards the horizon to deliver something uniquely theirs. With two transcendent singles teasing the anticipated release of Hyacinth Haze, it’s only a matter of time until their incomparable debut album drops. The jensens ‘mt. Mura’ single out now (independent).
We were all alone We were on the phone When your eyes are locked in mine Darling don't you see You belong to me That's the way it was meant to be Say you had other plans Cause I am not your man We could learn to love again. I can feel it in my bones Like I've never known When we talk alone I see That you don't belong to me Everything showing up, so in love Hope you never go and see That you don't belong to me Don't belong to me.
The Jensens are the kind of band who make the genre work for them, rather than trying to appease a trend. You can most likely attribute this to their tireless touring schedule, the boys running rampant through the Brisbane circuit. That liveliness translates across to all their songs and none more so than A New Hope. The other big draw for The Jensens are the lyrics. Front man Joe White has an uncanny ability to weave enlightening stories of the everyman whilst remaining quite personal, and furthermore disguise the darker elements with his excitable vocals. A New Hope will leave fans frothing for The Jensens’ debut album, which is due for release later this year. Until then you can catch the boys in the flesh in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Byron Bay later this month. May 15 – Elsewhere, Gold Coast.
