Originally a duo comprised of Dylan Cristy and Adam Pierce, the Dylan Group expanded to perform as a four piece with Scott McGovern and Tyler Pistilli. They use the vibraphones as the melodic centerpiece for everything from experimental breakbeat to improv ambience, hip-hoppy trance and latin lounge music. Other non-Bubble Core releases include a 12" for FatCat in London, an appearance on Kickin Music's Theater Of Sound compilation, and inclusion on a CD for Afterhours Magazine in Tokyo.
If jazz had been invented by pasty-white college radio DJs with an electronica fetish, it might resemble the Dylan Group's brand of languid Post-Rock. Originally a duo, they've expanded to a quartet of two drummers, a vibraphonist and a bassist.
