Louis Stewart & Jim Doherty TUNES is the first album of duets from life-long friends Louis Stewart and Jim Doherty, although they have been talking about it for decades ! Louis was born in 1944, and during his lifetime has worked with Benny Goodman, Tubby Hayes, Ronnie Scott & George Shearing. Jim has performed with hundreds of jazz performers including Gerry Mulligan, Ray Charles and vocalist Honor Heffernan. In the fifty or so years since these two guys first met they have worked on literally hundreds of musical projects together, while always promising that some day they'd record an album of duets- just guitar and piano. Now, with the encouragement and enthusiasm of Daire Winston at Beechpark Studios, here it comes. The titles they have recorded are all standards from the Great American Songbook so we hope you enjoy.
