However, Marc Shaiman was the man and what a great job he's done too producing an exciting and varied western scor,e that while having some comedic moments never descends into slapstick or becomes irritating. After a brief prologue the main title introduces the main theme which is actually one of my favourite western themes, even if it is for a comedy western. Bernstein's comedy westerns (The Three Amigos for a start, although it's only on LP) are excellent, but for sheer fun and variety, Shaiman has done another bang up job.

Billy Crystal and Jack Palance are back in the saddle again in CITY SLICKERS II, the sequel to the 1991 surprise smash. This amiable comedy has laughs, but can't compete with the warmth and charm of the original. Stephen J. Lineweaver.
City Slickers II: The Legend of Curly's Gold. City Slickers II: The Legend of Curly's Gold is a 1994 American Western comedy film directed by Paul Weiland.
The second part of City Slickers begins after the death of Curly. It is the 40th birthday of Mitch Robbins and the day begins quite good until he returns home (after a hard day at the radio station) and finds his brother Glen, the black sheep of the family, in his sofa. Together with Phil (from the first part) and unfortunately with Glen he tries to find the hidden gold of Curly's father in the desert of Arizona instead of attending a meeting in Las Vegas. Written by Volker Boehm. Did You Know? Trivia. In the original draft, Billy Crystal's character "accidentally" drops his brother Glenn (Jon Lovitz) into a canyon before an oncoming stampede, killing him. Although it was scrapped after negative screen testing, the scene was eventually used in the Lion King.
