Psychopathia Sexualis is the seventh album by Whitehouse released in 1982 on the Come Organisation label. It was on the liner notes for the album that principal member William Bennett first used the term "Power electronics" to describe the group's music. Psychopathia Sexualis returns to the theme of serial killers, the subject of most of the songs. Every song title bearing the name of serial killer opens with a spoken introduction, detailing the profile of the serial killer
Paul Mercer is a pioneer in neoclassical music who has played the violin since the age of eight. His studies in Classical and Hindustani music, as well as decades of busking, playing in bands, managing a violin shop and travelling to the four corners of the earth have created a unique style combining centuries-old instruments and modern electronic effects.
