Take a look back at HBO Pictures' 1985 Patsy Cline biopic "Sweet Dreams," which gives a unique view on the country icon's sometimes turbulent life. Despite a talented cast, the film falls way short of fully capturing the life and talents of Cline, showing her instead as the constant victim of a more fleshed-out character's fits of drunken rage. Cline's family seems to agree that the film doesn't do her justice, with past interviews lamenting the details skipped over by director Karel Reisz, producer Bernard Schwartz and writer Robert Getchell.

In the eight short years that Patsy Cline recorded music, she left behind a catalog of timeless classics that will always be sung, and a voice that will continue to influence artist of all genres and generations. It spoke volumes when the First Lady of country music, Tammy Wynette, had this to say in the liner notes of The Patsy Cline Collection: In the cotton fields of Mississippi, I would daydream about being Patsy Cline. Patsy is and perhaps will always be the standard bearer for all female country singers.
Country queen Patsy Cline missed the US album chart with her first, self-titled 1957 release, even though it contained her No. 2 country hit of that year, ‘Walkin’ After Midnight. Despite some EP releases and then the resumption of her hit career in 1961, she didn’t release a second album until towards the end of that year. Then on 31 March 1962, that disc, Patsy Cline Showcase, finally gave her a presence on the album chart
