Live In São Paulo is the second live album by Brazilian heavy metal band Sepultura. All the tracks were recorded on April 3, 2005, at a concert in São Paulo, Brazil. A DVD was also filmed at the show. The performance of "Refuse/Resist" was released as the single for the album. Both were released on November 8, through SPV Records. The album and DVD are the second time that fans can hear singer Derrick Green perform Max Cavalera-era Sepultura songs on an official release.

For the first few albums of its career, Brazil's Sepultura was a better-than-average death metal band, but with the release of Chaos . the group's true colors began to shine. In addition to focusing its rancor more deliberately, Sepultura began to flirt with tribal drumming and experimental guitar noises, elements that would later become trademarks for frontman Max Cavalera. Following up the superb, "Arise" from 1991, Sepultura further progress there sound with this album, "Chaos . which may be the best political recording in Metal history. Furthering the band's focus on the harsh treatment that the band's country Brazil had faced in that time and extending it towards the problems and grievences of ALL who live under tyranny and opression, this album reigns as a powerful classic.

was the record where everything came together for Sepultura, when they graduated from being an excellent, if derivative, band into one of metal's most unique voices. Their strident political dissidence is more focused than ever, referring explicitly to injustices in their native Brazil. The band's thick, chunky guitars, busy percussion, and hoarsely shouted vocals may be rooted in death metal, but it was often hard to call Sepultura a true death metal band, even if they flirted heavily with the style by way of Slayer; Chaos .
