Skynyrd's Innyrds: Their Greatest Hits comes close to being a solid single-disc overview of the Southern rockers' biggest hits, but it falls short in a number of important ways. Most notably, "Free Bird" is not in either its studio or live incarnations; it's presented as an outtake, something that will only be of interest to hardcore Lynyrd Skynyrd fans, just like the outtake of "Double Trouble.

Lynyrd Skynyrd: American rock band best known for popularizing the Southern rock genre during the 1970s with songs such as "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Free Bird". It formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1964 under the name My Backyard with original members Ronnie Van Zant, Gary Rossington, Allen Collins, Larry Junstrom and Bob Burns. The band spent five years touring small venues under a variety of different names and with several lineup changes before finally deciding on "Lynyrd Skynyrd" in 1969.

Skynyrd's Innyrds: Greatest Hits. Forget the questionable title-did the survivors actually approve it?-and dig Innyrds' track listing, which sums up a lot about why so many of us still love this bunch of Southern tough guys.
