Greetings from Asbury Park, . Bruce Springsteen's debut album found him squarely in the tradition of Bob Dylan: folk-based tunes arranged for an electric band featuring piano and organ (plus, in Springsteen's case, 1950s-style rock & roll tenor saxophone breaks), topped by acoustic guitar and a husky voice singing lyrics full of elaborate, even exaggerated imagery. But where Dylan had taken a world-weary, cynical tone, Springsteen was exuberant. His street scenes could be haunted and tragic, as they were in "Lost in the Flood," but they were still imbued with romanticism and a youthful energy. Greetings from Asbury Park, . Greetings from ashbury park, . I consider this to be bruce's best album, and although not a lot of people agree, it is none the less a great album and on eof my personal faves. Greetings' was released at the begining of 1973 and is still considered a great album today. Blinded by the light. This is a great song, i ecspeccially like the intro, which brings the song, (and the album) in nicely. As ever, Bruce's lyrics are clever and catchy, .
Greetings from Asbury Park . is everything you’d expect Springsteen’s debut album to be. It’s an origin story that he crafted for himself, along with several tales of people he’s met–or imagined–along the way. While the album doesn’t hold Springsteen’s strongest fare, it’s plenty proof that his songs pack a punch when it comes to storytelling and includes one of the most pervasive motifs throughout his early works: cars and motorcycles, both literally and figuratively.
