Triana biography Formed in 1974 in Andalusia, Spain - Disbanded in 1983 - Reformed from 1994 to 2002 and again since 2007. TRIANA is the most legendary progressive rockband in Spain. Their stunning debut-album was a seminal blend of flamenco and progrock and paved the way to flamenco-inspired progrock in Spain, culminating in bands like AZAHAR, CAI, ALAMEDA, QUALDAQUIVIR, MEZQUITA and MEDINA AZAHARA. The story of TRIANA started in Seville, the beating heart of the flamenco

Almost five years on from Andreya Triana’s promising debut and now it’s boy singers, not divas, who rule the charts. Perhaps she can do her bit to redress the balance with Giants, a follow-up album on which Triana emerges as a distinctive modern soul voice. If she’s taken her time over this record, at least the r singer sounds like she’s lived life. Her rich vocal has a timeless quality on the bruised balladry of Heart in My Hands, Giants and It’s Not Over
Triana’s debut album, ‘Lost Where I Belong,’ also incorporated Green’s production talent, creating an album which was full of soul, reminiscent of 60s Motown yet meeting with contemporary electronica. Triana has grown and grown, finding success on both sides of the Atlantic, resulting in collaborations with US artists such as Flying Lotus, whose space-soul, hip-hop vibes matches greatly with Triana’s voice. Tender, delicate, soulful, music which would never tire that pairs perfectly with the wave of trip-hop influenced producers such as Bonobo. Live, she often performs with a full band, who offer a gentle accompaniment laden with groove, letting her voice shine through. It is likely that a new album will arise soon, with several intimate shows planned for this autumn. Report as inappropriate.
