LNZNDRF is an American indie rock band based in Cincinnati, Ohio. The group is a collaboration between Ben Lanz (of Beirut) and brothers Scott and Bryan Devendorf (of The National). The album was released by 4AD on February 19, 2016. On August 5, 2016 the band released Green Roses, with a running time of just over 25 minutes.
LNZNDRF is a fine-if-flawed testament to the company's Thatcher years, but it could have been tremendous if they had kept it strictly instrumental. If the Devendorfs were allowed to bring some of this fried psychedelia to the National, alongside the Dessner twins' neo-classical grandiloquence, the National's next album could really be something.
This is not a record for quick thrills, or for sombre introspection; it is an album that creates a rich, layered sonic space, in which it invites its audience to lose themselves awhile.
Label: 4AD – CAD3612. Country: UK, Europe & US.
The debut album of a collaboration between trombonist Ben Lanz of Beirut and the National's Scott and Bryan Devendorf, LNZNDRF is improvisational in nature and not necessarily what may be imagined for the combination of names involved.

Album · 2016 · 8 Songs. But teaming with t Ben Lanz to form LNZNDRF, they eschew their regular band’s graceful drama for watery, propulsive grooves. The rubbery chug and ascending chants on Beneath the Black Sea recall the best of post-punk, Hypno-Skate luxuriates in a spacey wash of synths, and Kind Things casts Lanz’s falsetto against a danceable strut. Spawned from a two-day improv session, LNZNDRF is an absorbing, hypnotic gem. LNZNDRF LNZNDRF.
