The Bitter End. Placebo. Produced by Jim Abbiss. Album Sleeping With Ghosts. The Bitter End Lyrics. Since we're feeling so anaesthetised In our comfort zone Reminds me of the second time That I followed you home. We're running out of alibis From the second of May Reminds me of the summer time On this winter's day. See you at the bitter end See you at the bitter end. Every step we take that's synchronized Every broken bone Reminds me of the second time That I followed you home
Since we're feeling so anaesthetised In our comfort zone Reminds me of the second time That I followed you home. Every step we take that's synchronized Every broken bone Reminds me of the second time That I followed you home . Love's reached his side Grab this gentleness inside Heard a cry Six feet down In six weeks' time The mess you left Will end See you at the bitter end. Submit Corrections. The Bitter End" is a single by British alternative rock band Placebo from their fourth studio album, Sleeping with Ghosts, released in 2003. The song is based on the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell. There are several references to it throughout the song, one of the most noticeable being the reference to 2 May - the date on which the two main characters, Winston and Julia, first spend the night together. The Bitter End" was released on 10 March 2003 via Elevator Music/Hut Records, the first single to be culled from Sleeping with Ghosts. Two CD singles offering differing B-sides were issued, as well as a single in 7" vinyl format. Later, "The Bitter End" saw inclusion on the November 2004 compilation Once More with Feeling: The Singles.
