Sunshine Superman is the third album from British singer-songwriter Donovan. It was released in the US in September 1966, but was not released in the UK because of a contractual dispute. In June 1967, a compilation of the Sunshine Superman and Mellow Yellow albums was released as Sunshine Superman in the UK. Sunshine Superman was named after Donovan's hit single released in the US in July 1966

On 'III' Sgt. Sunshine takes on yet another form that differs vastly from the previous effort 'Black Hole'. Sgt. Sunshine's return to form on 'III' is something that most fans have been looking forward to for quite some time. Opening the album is the powerful and fuzzy track 'Zoetrope'. The song opens with a drum pattern that leads straight into an archetypically stoner-rock sounding track, with all the fuzzy guitar riffing and booming bass-lines one could possibly desire. Sunshine released their self-titled debut, an album that 10 years later still rings in the ears of those who were fortunate enough to hear it. In 2007, the follow-up, Black Hole, came out on Elektrohasch, and with a crunchier sound didn’t have quite the same spark as its predecessor, despite also being well received at the time
