Steve Schwartz wrote (July 29, 2002): Summary for the Busy Executive: le. I first heard Hilary Hahn live, in a performance with the Cleveland Orchestra of the Mozart third violin concerto. As a rule, I'm not a huge fan of the Mozart violin concerti, and I've always preferred the "Turkish" fifth. However, Hahn and the Cleveland made a believer of me. Hahn invested her line with the subtlety of a great singer, and the orchestra followed her with the sensitivity of a Gerald Moore. It was one of the finest Mozart performances I've.

Hilary Hahn (born November 27, 1979) is an American violinist. She has performed throughout the world both as a soloist with leading orchestras and conductors and as a recitalist. She has also built a reputation as a champion of contemporary music. Several composers have written works for her, including concerti by Edgar Meyer and Jennifer Higdon and partitas by Antón García Abril.

A student of the last student of Ysaÿe, American violinist Hilary Hahn has played Bach's solo violin music since she was nine, and inaugurated her recording career seven years later with a recording of half the cycle of six, in 1997. That recording rightly won acclaim with its flawless technique and Apollonian lines straight out of the best of the French violin school. It's not an accident that some of the graphics picture Hahn smiling, nor that her quite relevant notes to the album detail the long creative process that went into making it. Sample anywhere, but you could try the very beginning, the first movement of the Sonata for solo violin No. 1 in G minor, BWV 1001, where Hahn takes just a bit of time, draws you in, and lets the rest of the movement flow from there.

The new disc features . Bach’s Solo Violin Sonatas No. 1 & 2 in G Minor and A Minor – and Solo Violin Partita No. 1 in B Minor. When I recorded my first album, of half of the set, when I was 16 and 17, I didn’t have a plan to complete the se. wanted simply to record the music I knew best at the time. the 39-year-old superstar violinist, and mother of two, has told The Violin Channel. In the intervening years, this new record has been the project I’ve been asked about the mos. When are you going to complete your solo Bach?’ Hilary has said.
