The Everly Brothers were an American country-influenced rock and roll duo, known for steel-string acoustic guitar playing and close harmony singing. Consisting of Isaac Donald "Don" Everly (born February 1, 1937) and Phillip Jason "Phil" Everly (January 19, 1939 – January 3, 2014), the duo were raised in a musical family, first appearing on radio singing along with their father Ike Everly and mother Margaret Everly as "The Everly Family" in the 1940s.

In 1984 the re-formed Everly Brothers released the album EB 84, and had a minor US and UK hit single with On the Wings of a Nightingale, written by Paul McCartney. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986, the same year that they scored a top 20 country hit with the title track from the album Born Yesterday . Phil Everly died of complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, apparently caused by decades of smoking. Phil is survived by his wife, Patti, sons, Jason and Chris, Don, his mother and two granddaughters.
Phil Everly - Phil Everly. My favoret one is,,( A Man and a woman) I'm going to have it played for my husband at our Annervisary Party. It can touch your heart as it did mine . Even though Phil Everly is best known as one half of the popular Everly Brothers, this album showcases his enormous talent as a solo artist and songwriter. Although he partners on several songs with Cliff Richards, his unique voice shines through on every song. She Means Nothing to Me" is a very catchy tune and will have you singing it in your head for hours. The most beautiful ballad (in my opinion) is "A Woman and a Ma.

Eitzel wrote all of the songs on an acoustic guitar, but finished most with a sampler and Pro-tools on his Power Mac G4 in the front room of his house in San Francisco. The Boy With the Hammer".
