The screenplay by Richard LaGravenese is loosely based on the 1958 French film Le Miroir a deux faces written by André Cayatte and Gérard Oury, which focused on a homely woman who becomes a beauty, which creates problems in her marriage.

Although all of this music is fine, it doesn't quite hold together as a consistent album, especially when the two new Streisand songs are the only reason most people will be purchasing the album. And, while they aren't bad, neither "All of My Life" or the Barbra and Bryan Adams duet "I Finally Found Someone" are particularly distinguished; the latter becomes stronger upon each play, while the former is merely pleasant.
Marvin Hamlisch's lightweight score and overworked title theme dominates this orchestral original soundtrack for Barbra Streisand's poorly-received romantic comedy. Babs and Bry (Adams) go through the motions on "I Finally Found Someone," while the Streisand-crooned "All of My Life" and Richard Marx's "The Power Inside of Me" are likely sequels. The album closes with a non-movie bonus-a stunning Streisand solo flight on a new song, "All Of My Life," written by Streisand with the "The Way We Were" songwriting team of Hamlisch and Alan and Marilyn Bergman. Read full description. See details and exclusions. See all 2 brand new listings.
