Guillemots' debut album, Through the Windowpane was released on 10 July and reached number 17 in the album chart. The album was preceded by the single "The Basket", which was perceived as being more like the material on Red, though the rest of Walk the River can be better compared to Through the Windowpane. Upon the release of the album fans were able to purchase a limited amount of the new album that were signed exclusively by the band.
After The Guillemots second album, Red, failed to duplicate the success of their debut release, there was a certain amount of pressure regarding Walk The River. Recorded in a converted country manor in the mountains of North Wales with a reduced budget, the British indie rock quartet found themselves influenced by both their situation and location.
Red is the second album from British indie rock band Guillemots. It was released on 24 March 2008 in the United Kingdom and reached number 9 in the UK Album Charts. The album release was preceded by the single "Get Over It" on 17 March. Also included is the video to Get Over It. Ida Maria provided backing vocals on the track "Words"
The Basket is the first single from the forthcoming third Guillemots album 'Walk The River' due out on April 18th. Here are some words from Fyfe about the video: "This is a song called "The Basket" which is the first single from our new album "Walk the River". We all got very excited about a fuzzy riff our guitarist Magrao started playing one day and the song came out of that.

Guillemots - The Basket Songtext. I wake up And nothing is where it should be Why do these things happen to me? I thought I was free Now I appear to be A standing stone. You knock me over You knock me over Come on and do it again. Conversations How we run into the cellar door Yeh I'm a backstroke swimmer for sure To the basket I'll return for evermore. You knock me over You knock me over You knock me over
